The car was sold 1995 at an auction for 160.000$.

Since then, it was stored in a Museum. All mechanical parts have been overhauled in 2016.

The ad doesn’t give much details, other than it has 15.000 miles on it and 203 hp and an automatic transmission. The color is said to be “Margaret Astor Pink metallic” and has a little patina. The interior is a pink and white two-tone and has some finish issues. It had Californian registration with a Vanity plate (Aubrn1)

The car is currently on eBay Germany, with one day and six hours left, and no bidders. starting price is 40.000€ (44.275$), reserve not met.

What do you think? Is this car a classic design, touched by glory and just a bit of Hollywood silliness? Or is it an overpriced relict of poor decisions and bad taste?

It’s a really poor exemplar of what it *should* be. It’s the metaphorical three year old sunbaked neglected Barbie edition of the metaphorical Power Wheels Mustang. The paint is gaudy, the engine setup is meh (chrome Edelbrock air cleaner that’s been so dirty it’s got rust spots? really?), the interior is poor, and being a continuation Auburn the bodywork is somehow... off.

That’s a SBF, probably a 289 or 302.

Crack Pipe. I’m a huge fan of speedsters of the 1930s. But for a 1969 car, it’s just not the same. It might have the right engine for a ‘69 car, but it’s the wrong engine, even if it’s empirically better.

Then there are the color choices. I don’t need to tell you that these are bad choices.

Force the movie companies to keep it. Make them blow it up in the next Fast & Furious movie.

I agree, designwise, it’s great, but the colors are all wrong. The engine wouldn’t bother me all that much, what really bothers me is that the exhaust pipes coming trough the hood are non-functional.

Make them blow it up in the next Fast & Furious movie.

I’d love to see that!
